How To Install ratpoison on Kali Linux

In this tutorial we learn how to install ratpoison on Kali Linux.
What is ratpoison
ratpoison is:
ratpoison is a simple window manager with no fancy graphics, no window decorations, and no rodent dependence. It is largely modelled after GNU Screen.
The screen can be split into non-overlapping frames. All windows are kept maximized inside their frames to take full advantage of your precious screen real estate.
All interaction with the window manager is done through keystrokes. ratpoison has a prefix map to minimize key clobbering.
There are three methods to install ratpoison on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ratpoison Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ratpoison using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

To uninstall only the ratpoison package we can use the following command:

To uninstall ratpoison and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ratpoisonRemove ratpoison Configurations and Data
To remove ratpoison configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ratpoisonRemove ratpoison configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
