How To Install rakudo-zef on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install rakudo-zef on CentOS 7.
What is rakudo-zef
Zef is a Perl6 module manager that query, download, update and install modules from of a file path (starting with . or /), URNs, URLs, paths, or identities from the Perl6 modules directory https installation. Depending on your privileges zef installs the modules at the system directories or at the home directory in ‘.perl6’ or if you specify a destination then to that destination directory.
We can use yum or dnf to install rakudo-zef on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install rakudo-zef.
Install rakudo-zef on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rakudo-zef using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install rakudo-zef
Install rakudo-zef on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install rakudo-zef using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install rakudo-zef
How To Uninstall rakudo-zef on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the rakudo-zef package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove rakudo-zef
