How To Install rakudo on Kali Linux

What is rakudo

rakudo is:

Rakudo Perl is a compiler that implements the Perl 6 specification and runs on top of several virtual machines. Debian rakudo package runs on top of MoarVM.

Perl 6 is a programming language, member of the Perl family. Like Perl 5, her world-famous big sister, Perl 6 intends to carry forward the high ideals of the Perl community and is currently being developed by a team of dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers.

There are three methods to install rakudo on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install rakudo Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install rakudo using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install rakudo

Install rakudo Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install rakudo using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install rakudo

Install rakudo Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install rakudo using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install rakudo

How To Uninstall rakudo on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the rakudo package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove rakudo

Uninstall rakudo And Its Dependencies

To uninstall rakudo and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove rakudo

Remove rakudo Configurations and Data

To remove rakudo configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge rakudo

Remove rakudo configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove rakudo configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge rakudo
