How To Install ragel on CentOS 7

In this tutorial we learn how to install ragel
on CentOS 7.
What is ragel
Ragel compiles executable finite state machines from regular languages. Ragel targets C, C++ and ASM. Ragel state machines can not only recognize byte sequences as regular expression machines do, but can also execute code at arbitrary points in the recognition of a regular language. Code embedding is done using inline operators that do not disrupt the regular language syntax.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install ragel
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ragel.
Install ragel on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
After updating yum database, We can install ragel
using yum
by running the following command:
