In this tutorial we learn how to install radare2 on CentOS 7.

What is radare2

The radare2 is a reverse-engineering framework that is multi-architecture, multi-platform, and highly scriptable. Radare2 provides a hexadecimal editor, wrapped I/O, file system support, debugger support, diffing between two functions or binaries, and code analysis at opcode, basic block, and function levels.

We can use yum or dnf to install radare2 on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install radare2.

Install radare2 on CentOS 7 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache

After updating yum database, We can install radare2 using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install radare2

Install radare2 on CentOS 7 Using dnf

If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first. Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache

After updating yum database, We can install radare2 using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install radare2

How To Uninstall radare2 on CentOS 7

To uninstall only the radare2 package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove radare2
