How To Install r-cran-uwot on Debian 12
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install r-cran-uwot on Debian 12.
What is r-cran-uwot
r-cran-uwot is:
An implementation of the Uniform Manifold Approximation and Projection dimensionality reduction by McInnes et al. (2018) arXiv:1802.03426. It also provides means to transform new data and to carry out supervised dimensionality reduction. An implementation of the related LargeVis method of Tang et al. (2016) arXiv:1602.00370 is also provided.
This is a complete re-implementation in R (and C++, via the ‘Rcpp’ package): no Python installation is required. See the uwot website (https://github.com/jlmelville/uwot) for more documentation and examples.
There are three methods to install r-cran-uwot on Debian 12. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install r-cran-uwot Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-uwot using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install r-cran-uwot
Install r-cran-uwot Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-uwot using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install r-cran-uwot
Install r-cran-uwot Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-uwot using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install r-cran-uwot
How To Uninstall r-cran-uwot on Debian 12
To uninstall only the r-cran-uwot package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove r-cran-uwot
Uninstall r-cran-uwot And Its Dependencies
To uninstall r-cran-uwot and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 12, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove r-cran-uwot
Remove r-cran-uwot Configurations and Data
To remove r-cran-uwot configuration and data from Debian 12 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge r-cran-uwot
Remove r-cran-uwot configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove r-cran-uwot configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge r-cran-uwot
