What is r-cran-spam

r-cran-spam is:

Set of functions for sparse matrix algebra. Differences with SparseM/Matrix are:

  1. only (essentially) one sparse matrix format supported,
  2. based on transparent and simple structure(s),
  3. tailored for MCMC calculations within GMRF.
  4. S3 and S4 like-“compatible”

There are three methods to install r-cran-spam on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install r-cran-spam Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
