How To Install r-cran-rserve on Ubuntu 18.04

This package provide Rserve, a headless server for GNU R. Rserve acts as a socket server (TCP/IP or local sockets) which allows binary requests to be sent to R. Every connection has a separate workspace and working directory. Client-side implementations are available for popular languages such as C/C++ and Java, allowing any application to use facilities of R without the need of linking to R code. Rserve supports remote connection, user authentication and file transfer. A simple R client is included in this package as well.

Install r-cran-rserve Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-rserve using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install r-cran-rserve

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-rserve using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install r-cran-rserve
Install r-cran-rserve Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-rserve using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install r-cran-rserve
How To Uninstall r-cran-rserve on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the r-cran-rserve package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove r-cran-rserve
Uninstall r-cran-rserve And Its Dependencies
To uninstall r-cran-rserve and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove r-cran-rserve
Remove r-cran-rserve Configurations and Data
To remove r-cran-rserve configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge r-cran-rserve
Remove r-cran-rserve configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove r-cran-rserve configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge r-cran-rserve
