What is r-cran-genie

r-cran-genie is:

Includes the reference implementation of Genie - a hierarchical clustering algorithm that links two point groups in such a way that an inequity measure (namely, the Gini index) of the cluster sizes does not significantly increase above a given threshold. This method most often outperforms many other data segmentation approaches in terms of clustering quality as tested on a wide range of benchmark datasets. At the same time, Genie retains the high speed of the single linkage approach, therefore it is also suitable for analysing larger data sets. There are three methods to install r-cran-genie on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install r-cran-genie Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-genie using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install r-cran-genie

How To Uninstall r-cran-genie on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the r-cran-genie package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove r-cran-genie

Uninstall r-cran-genie And Its Dependencies

To uninstall r-cran-genie and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove r-cran-genie

Remove r-cran-genie Configurations and Data

To remove r-cran-genie configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge r-cran-genie
