How To Install r-cran-epi on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install r-cran-epi
on Debian 10.
What is r-cran-epi
r-cran-epi is:
Functions for demographic and epidemiological analysis in the Lexis diagram, i.e. register and cohort follow-up data, including interval censored data and representation of multistate data. Also some useful functions for tabulation and plotting. Contains some epidemiological datasets.
The Epi package is mainly focused on “classical” chronic disease epidemiology. The package has grown out of the course Statistical Practice in Epidemiology using R (see http://www.pubhealth.ku.dk/~bxc/SPE).

Epi is not the only R-package for epidemiological analysis, a package with more affinity to infectious disease epidemiology is the epitools package which is also evailable in Debian.
Epi is used in the Department of Biostatistics of the University of Copenhagen.
There are three methods to install r-cran-epi
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install r-cran-epi Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-epi
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install r-cran-epi
Install r-cran-epi Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-epi
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install r-cran-epi
Install r-cran-epi Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-epi
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install r-cran-epi
How To Uninstall r-cran-epi on Debian 10
To uninstall only the r-cran-epi
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove r-cran-epi
Uninstall r-cran-epi And Its Dependencies
To uninstall r-cran-epi
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove r-cran-epi
Remove r-cran-epi Configurations and Data
To remove r-cran-epi
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge r-cran-epi
Remove r-cran-epi configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove r-cran-epi
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge r-cran-epi
