How To Install r-cran-animation on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install r-cran-animation on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is r-cran-animation
r-cran-animation is:
Provides functions for animations in statistics, covering topics in probability theory, mathematical statistics, multivariate statistics, non-parametric statistics, sampling survey, linear models, time series, computational statistics, data mining and machine learning. These functions may be helpful in teaching statistics and data analysis. Also provided in this package are a series of functions to save animations to various formats, e.g. Flash, ‘GIF’, HTML pages, ‘PDF’ and videos. ‘PDF’ animations can be inserted into ‘Sweave’ / ‘knitr’ easily.
There are three methods to install r-cran-animation on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install r-cran-animation Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-animation using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install r-cran-animation
Install r-cran-animation Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-animation using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install r-cran-animation
Install r-cran-animation Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install r-cran-animation using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install r-cran-animation
How To Uninstall r-cran-animation on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the r-cran-animation package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove r-cran-animation
Uninstall r-cran-animation And Its Dependencies
To uninstall r-cran-animation and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove r-cran-animation
Remove r-cran-animation Configurations and Data
To remove r-cran-animation configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge r-cran-animation
Remove r-cran-animation configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove r-cran-animation configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge r-cran-animation
