How To Install quake2-server on Ubuntu 18.04

What is quake2-server
quake2-server is:
This package contains a launcher script and init script to run a Quake II server automatically, with any suitable engine.
To make this package useful, you will need to create and install some non-distributable packages by using the game-data-packager package: either quake2-full-data or quake2-demo-data. Creating quake2-full-data requires data files from a Quake II installation or CD-ROM.
There are three methods to install quake2-server
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

Install quake2-server Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install quake2-server
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install quake2-server

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install quake2-server
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install quake2-server
Install quake2-server Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install quake2-server
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install quake2-server
How To Uninstall quake2-server on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the quake2-server
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove quake2-server
Uninstall quake2-server And Its Dependencies
To uninstall quake2-server
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove quake2-server
Remove quake2-server Configurations and Data
To remove quake2-server
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge quake2-server
Remove quake2-server configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove quake2-server
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge quake2-server
