What is qtsingleapplication
For some applications it is useful or even critical that they are started only once by any user. Future attempts to start the application should activate any already running instance, and possibly perform requested actions, e.g. loading a file, in that instance. The QtSingleApplication class provides an interface to detect a running instance, and to send command strings to that instance.
We can use yum or dnf to install qtsingleapplication on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install qtsingleapplication.
Install qtsingleapplication on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install qtsingleapplication using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install qtsingleapplication
Install qtsingleapplication on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install qtsingleapplication using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install qtsingleapplication
How To Uninstall qtsingleapplication on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the qtsingleapplication package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove qtsingleapplication
