What is qemu-system-arm

QEMU is a fast processor emulator: currently the package supports ARM emulation. By using dynamic translation it achieves reasonable speed while being easy to port on new host CPUs.

This package provides the full system emulation binaries to emulate the following arm hardware: aarch64 arm.

In system emulation mode QEMU emulates a full system, including a processor and various peripherals. It enables easier testing and debugging of system code. It can also be used to provide virtual hosting of several virtual machines on a single server.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install qemu-system-arm using apt by running the following command:

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install qemu-system-arm using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install qemu-system-arm

How To Uninstall qemu-system-arm on Kali Linux

To uninstall qemu-system-arm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove qemu-system-arm

To remove qemu-system-arm configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge qemu-system-arm
