How To Install qastools-common on Kali Linux
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install qastools-common on Kali Linux.
What is qastools-common
qastools-common is:
QasTools is a collection of desktop applications for the Linux sound system ALSA.
The applications included are:
- QasConfig - browser for the ALSA configuration tree
- QasHctl - mixer for ALSA’s High level Control Interface
- QasMixer - desktop mixer with features similar to alsamixer
This package contains common files shared by all applications.
There are three methods to install qastools-common on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install qastools-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install qastools-common using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install qastools-commonInstall qastools-common Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install qastools-common using apt by running the following command:

To remove qastools-common configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
