What is qapt-batch

qapt-batch is:

QApt is a collection of tools and a library providing a wrapper around APT. The intention is to ease the use of APT in Qt-based programs.

QApt Batch is a simple GUI for doing batch package management operations. It can install and remove packages, as well as update the package cache via a command line interface. It also has an attach function invokable via the command line. QApt Batch is a drop-in replacement for the “install-package” batch package management tool.

There are three methods to install qapt-batch on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install qapt-batch Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install qapt-batch using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install qapt-batch

Install qapt-batch Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install qapt-batch using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install qapt-batch

Install qapt-batch Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install qapt-batch using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install qapt-batch

How To Uninstall qapt-batch on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the qapt-batch package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove qapt-batch

Uninstall qapt-batch And Its Dependencies

To uninstall qapt-batch and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove qapt-batch

Remove qapt-batch Configurations and Data

To remove qapt-batch configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge qapt-batch
