What is python36-brotli
Brotli is a generic-purpose lossless compression algorithm that compresses data using a combination of a modern variant of the LZ77 algorithm, Huffman coding and 2nd order context modeling, with a compression ratio comparable to the best currently available general-purpose compression methods. It is similar in speed with deflate but offers more dense compression. This package installs a Python 3 module.
We can use yum or dnf to install python36-brotli on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python36-brotli.
Install python36-brotli on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python36-brotli using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python36-brotli
Install python36-brotli on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python36-brotli using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python36-brotli
How To Uninstall python36-brotli on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the python36-brotli package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python36-brotli
