What is python3-zxcvbn
A realistic password strength estimator. This is a Python implementation of the library created by the team at Dropbox. The original library was written for JavaScript. Accepts user data to be added to the dictionaries that are tested against (name, birthdate, etc). Gives a score to the password, from 0 (terrible) to 4 (great). It provides feedback on the password and ways to improve it and returns time estimates on how long it would take to guess the password in different situations.
We can use yum or dnf to install python3-zxcvbn on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python3-zxcvbn.
Install python3-zxcvbn on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python3-zxcvbn using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python3-zxcvbn
Install python3-zxcvbn on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python3-zxcvbn using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python3-zxcvbn
How To Uninstall python3-zxcvbn on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the python3-zxcvbn package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python3-zxcvbn
