What is python3-wx-siplib
This is the Python 3 build of wx-siplib. SIP is a tool for generating bindings for C++ classes so that they can be accessed as normal Python classes. SIP takes many of its ideas from SWIG but, because it is specifically designed for C++ and Python, is able to generate tighter bindings. SIP is so called because it is a small SWIG. SIP was originally designed to generate Python bindings for KDE and so has explicit support for the signal slot mechanism used by the Qt/KDE class libraries. However, SIP can be used to generate Python bindings for any C++ class library.
We can use yum or dnf to install python3-wx-siplib on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python3-wx-siplib.
Install python3-wx-siplib on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python3-wx-siplib using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python3-wx-siplib
Install python3-wx-siplib on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python3-wx-siplib using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python3-wx-siplib
How To Uninstall python3-wx-siplib on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the python3-wx-siplib package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python3-wx-siplib
