What is python3-willow
python3-willow is:
Willow is a simple image library that combines the APIs of Pillow, Wand and OpenCV. It converts the image between the libraries when necessary.
Willow currently has basic resize and crop operations, face and feature detection and animated GIF support. New operations and library integrations can also be easily implemented.
This is the Python 3 version of the package.
There are three methods to install python3-willow
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install python3-willow Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get

sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-willow
using apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python3-willow
using aptitude

To uninstall only the python3-willow
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python3-willow
Uninstall python3-willow And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python3-willow
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python3-willow
Remove python3-willow Configurations and Data
To remove python3-willow
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python3-willow
