What is python3-thriftpy

python3-thriftpy is:

ThriftPy is a pure Python implementation of Apache Thrift http://thrift.apache.org/ in a pythonic way.

Currently ThriftPy have these features (also advantages over the upstream Python lib):

  • Pure Python implementation. No longer need to compile & install the ’thrift’ package. All you need is thriftpy and thrift file.

  • Compatible with Apache Thrift. You can use ThriftPy together with the official implementation servers and clients, such as a upstream server with a thriftpy client or the opposite.

  • Currently implemented protocols and transports:

    • binary protocol (Python and cython)

    • compact protocol (Python and cython)

    • json protocol

    • buffered transport (Python & cython)

    • framed transport

    • tornado server and client (with tornado 4.0)

  • Can directly load thrift file as module, the sdk code will be generated on the fly.

  • Easy RPC server/client setup.

There are three methods to install python3-thriftpy on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python3-thriftpy Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python3-thriftpy using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install python3-thriftpy

Install python3-thriftpy Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install python3-thriftpy using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install python3-thriftpy

Install python3-thriftpy Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install python3-thriftpy using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install python3-thriftpy

How To Uninstall python3-thriftpy on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the python3-thriftpy package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove python3-thriftpy

Uninstall python3-thriftpy And Its Dependencies

To uninstall python3-thriftpy and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove python3-thriftpy

Remove python3-thriftpy Configurations and Data

To remove python3-thriftpy configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge python3-thriftpy

Remove python3-thriftpy configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove python3-thriftpy configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
