OpenALPR is an open source Automatic License Plate Recognition library written in C++. The library analyzes images and identifies license plates. The output is the text representation of any license plate characters found in the image.
The Python 3 package allows Python 3 code to interface with OpenALPR directly via native Python 3 bindings.
There are three methods to install python3-openalpr on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

After updating apt database, We can install python3-openalpr using apt by running the following command:

Install python3-openalpr Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
