How To Install python3-cigi on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python3-cigi
python3-cigi is:
This package contains SWIG-generated Python interfaces for the CIGI class library (CCL). The primary goal of the Common Image Generator Interface (CIGI) standard is to standardise the interface between a simulators host computer and the Image Generator. The CCL is a C++ language library for implementing CIGI in both host and IG applications.
Some features of the CCL include:
- Handles packing, unpacking, and byte swapping automatically
- Handles output buffer management
- Can handle most of the input buffer management with simple calls
- Can translate between different versions of CIGI
There are three methods to install python3-cigi on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

How To Uninstall python3-cigi on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python3-cigi package we can use the following command:

To uninstall python3-cigi and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python3-cigi
Remove python3-cigi Configurations and Data
To remove python3-cigi configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python3-cigi
