What is python2-scandir
scandir() is a directory iteration function like os.listdir(), except that instead of returning a list of bare filenames, it yields DirEntry objects that include file type and stat information along with the name. Using scandir() increases the speed of os.walk() by 2-20 times (depending on the platform and file system) by avoiding unnecessary calls to os.stat() in most cases. scandir is included in the Python 3.5+ standard library.

Install python2-scandir on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python2-scandir using yum by running the following command:

Install python2-scandir on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python2-scandir using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python2-scandir
How To Uninstall python2-scandir on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the python2-scandir package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python2-scandir
