What is python2-numpy
NumPy is a general-purpose array-processing package designed to efficiently manipulate large multi-dimensional arrays of arbitrary records without sacrificing too much speed for small multi-dimensional arrays. NumPy is built on the Numeric code base and adds features introduced by numarray as well as an extended C-API and the ability to create arrays of arbitrary type. There are also basic facilities for discrete fourier transform, basic linear algebra and random number generation. Also included in this package is a version of f2py that works properly with NumPy.
We can use yum or dnf to install python2-numpy on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python2-numpy.
Install python2-numpy on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install python2-numpy using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python2-numpy
Install python2-numpy on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install python2-numpy using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python2-numpy
How To Uninstall python2-numpy on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the python2-numpy package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python2-numpy
