What is python2-mpmath
Mpmath is a pure-Python library for multiprecision floating-point arithmetic. It provides an extensive set of transcendental functions, unlimited exponent sizes, complex numbers, interval arithmetic, numerical integration and differentiation, root-finding, linear algebra, and much more. Almost any calculation can be performed just as well at 10-digit or 1000-digit precision, and in many cases mpmath implements asymptotically fast algorithms that scale well for extremely high precision work. If available, mpmath will (optionally) use gmpy to speed up high precision operations. If you require plotting capabilities in mpmath, install python-matplotlib.
We can use yum or dnf to install python2-mpmath on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python2-mpmath.
Install python2-mpmath on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python2-mpmath using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python2-mpmath
Install python2-mpmath on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python2-mpmath using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python2-mpmath
How To Uninstall python2-mpmath on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the python2-mpmath package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python2-mpmath
