How To Install python2-docutils on AlmaLinux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install python2-docutils on AlmaLinux 8.
What is python2-docutils
The Docutils project specifies a plaintext markup language, reStructuredText, which is easy to read and quick to write. The project includes a python library to parse rST files and transform them into other useful formats such as HTML, XML, and TeX as well as commandline tools that give the enduser access to this functionality. Currently, the library supports parsing rST that is in standalone files and PEPs (Python Enhancement Proposals). Work is underway to parse rST from Python inline documentation modules and packages.
We can use yum or dnf to install python2-docutils on AlmaLinux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python2-docutils.
Install python2-docutils on AlmaLinux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install python2-docutils using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python2-docutils
Install python2-docutils on AlmaLinux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install python2-docutils using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python2-docutils
How To Uninstall python2-docutils on AlmaLinux 8
To uninstall only the python2-docutils package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python2-docutils
