How To Install python2-dns on CentOS 8

What is python2-dns
dnspython is a DNS toolkit for Python. It supports almost all record types. It can be used for queries, zone transfers, and dynamic updates. It supports TSIG authenticated messages and EDNS0. dnspython provides both high and low level access to DNS. The high level classes perform queries for data of a given name, type, and class, and return an answer set. The low level classes allow direct manipulation of DNS zones, messages, names, and records.
We can use yum or dnf to install python2-dns on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python2-dns.
Install python2-dns on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python2-dns using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python2-dns
Install python2-dns on CentOS 8 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python2-dns using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python2-dns
How To Uninstall python2-dns on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the python2-dns package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python2-dns
