How To Install python-wsme on Ubuntu 18.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install python-wsme on Ubuntu 18.04.
What is python-wsme
python-wsme is:
Web Service Made Easy (WSME) simplify the writing of REST web services by providing simple yet powerful typing which removes the need to directly manipulate the request and the response objects.
WSME can work standalone or on top of your favorite Python web (micro) framework, so you can use both your preferred way of routing your REST requests and most of the features of WSME that rely on the typing system like:
- Alternate protocols, including ones supporting batch-calls
- Easy documentation through a Sphinx extension
WSME is originally a rewrite of TGWebServices with focus on extensibility, framework-independance and better type handling.
This package provides the Python 2.x module.
There are three methods to install python-wsme on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-wsme Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-wsme using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-wsme
Install python-wsme Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-wsme using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-wsme
Install python-wsme Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-wsme using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-wsme
How To Uninstall python-wsme on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-wsme package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-wsme
Uninstall python-wsme And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-wsme and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-wsme
Remove python-wsme Configurations and Data
To remove python-wsme configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-wsme
Remove python-wsme configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-wsme configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-wsme
