What is python-sqlalchemy
SQLAlchemy is an Object Relational Mapper (ORM) that provides a flexible, high-level interface to SQL databases. Database and domain concepts are decoupled, allowing both sides maximum flexibility and power. SQLAlchemy provides a powerful mapping layer that can work as automatically or as manually as you choose, determining relationships based on foreign keys or letting you define the join conditions explicitly, to bridge the gap between database and domain. This package includes the python 2 version of the module.
We can use yum or dnf to install python-sqlalchemy on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python-sqlalchemy.
Install python-sqlalchemy on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python-sqlalchemy using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python-sqlalchemy
Install python-sqlalchemy on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python-sqlalchemy using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python-sqlalchemy
How To Uninstall python-sqlalchemy on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the python-sqlalchemy package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python-sqlalchemy
