What is python-pyst

python-pyst is:

Pyst consists of a set of interfaces and libraries to allow programming and control of Asterisk from Python. The library currently supports:

  • AGI (Asterisk Gateway Interface)
  • AMI (Asterisk Manager Interface)
  • parsing of Asterisk configuration files

It also provides a helper module to display Python AGI backtraces in the Asterisk console.

There are three methods to install python-pyst on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-pyst Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
