python-pysmi is:
PySMI is a pure-Python implementation of SNMP SMI MIB parser. This tool is designed to turn ASN.1 MIBs into various formats. As of this moment, JSON and pysnmp modules can be generated from ASN.1 MIBs.
This package contains the Python 2.x module.
There are three methods to install python-pysmi
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude

Install python-pysmi Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-pysmi
using apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install python-pysmi

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude

After updating apt database, We can install python-pysmi

sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-pysmi
Remove python-pysmi Configurations and Data
To remove python-pysmi
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-pysmi
