How To Install python-pygit2 on Ubuntu 18.04

The Pygit2 module provides a set of Python bindings to the libgit2 shared library. libgit2 implements the core of Git. Pygit2 works with Python 2.7, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4 and pypy.
This package contains the Python 2.x module.
There are three methods to install python-pygit2
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install python-pygit2

Install python-pygit2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-pygit2
using aptitude

How To Uninstall python-pygit2 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-pygit2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-pygit2
Uninstall python-pygit2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-pygit2
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-pygit2
Remove python-pygit2 Configurations and Data
To remove python-pygit2
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-pygit2
Remove python-pygit2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
