How To Install python-pathlib2 on Ubuntu 20.04

python-pathlib2 is:
The old pathlib module on bitbucket is in bugfix-only mode. The goal of pathlib2 is to provide a backport of standard pathlib module which tracks the standard library module, so all the newest features of the standard pathlib can be used also on older Python versions.
This package is (obviously) for Python 2.
There are three methods to install python-pathlib2
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-pathlib2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-pathlib2

After updating apt database, We can install python-pathlib2

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-pathlib2

How To Uninstall python-pathlib2 on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the python-pathlib2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-pathlib2
Uninstall python-pathlib2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-pathlib2
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-pathlib2
Remove python-pathlib2 Configurations and Data
To remove python-pathlib2
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-pathlib2
Remove python-pathlib2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-pathlib2
