python-otb is:

ORFEO Toolbox (OTB) is distributed as an open source library of image processing algorithms. OTB is based on the medical image processing library ITK and offers particular functionalities for remote sensing image processing in general and for high spatial resolution images in particular.

This package contains the Python 2 API that can be used to create Python versions of existing OTB applications provided by the libotb-apps package.

There are three methods to install python-otb on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-otb Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update
