python-ntlm is:

Python library that provides NTLM support, including an authentication handler for urllib2 (includes python-ntlm-fixed patch). This package allows Python clients running on any operating system to provide NTLM authentication to a supporting server. python-ntlm is probably most useful on platforms that are not Windows, since on Windows it is possible to take advantage of platform-specific NTLM support.

There are three methods to install python-ntlm on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-ntlm Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install python-ntlm using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install python-ntlm

How To Uninstall python-ntlm on Ubuntu 18.04

To uninstall only the python-ntlm package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove python-ntlm

Uninstall python-ntlm And Its Dependencies

To uninstall python-ntlm and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-ntlm

Remove python-ntlm Configurations and Data

To remove python-ntlm configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge python-ntlm
