What is python-nss
This package provides Python bindings for Network Security Services (NSS) and the Netscape Portable Runtime (NSPR). NSS is a set of libraries supporting security-enabled client and server applications. Applications built with NSS can support SSL v2 and v3, TLS, PKCS #5, PKCS #7, PKCS #11, PKCS #12, S/MIME, X.509 v3 certificates, and other security standards. Specific NSS implementations have been FIPS-140 certified.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install python-nss
on CentOS 7. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install python-nss.
Install python-nss on CentOS 7 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python-nss
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install python-nss
Install python-nss on CentOS 7 Using dnf
If you don’t have dnf installed you can install DNF on CentOS 7 first.
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache
After updating yum database, We can install python-nss
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install python-nss
How To Uninstall python-nss on CentOS 7
To uninstall only the python-nss
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove python-nss
