What is python-mlt
python-mlt is:
MLT is an open source multimedia framework, designed and developed for television broadcasting. It provides a toolkit for broadcasters, video editors, media players, transcoders, web streamers and many more types of applications. The functionality of the system is provided via an assortment of ready to use tools, xml authoring components, and an extendible plug-in based API.
This package contains the Python bindings for the mlt package.
There are three methods to install python-mlt
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-mlt Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-mlt
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-mlt

After updating apt database, We can install python-mlt

How To Uninstall python-mlt on Debian 10
To uninstall only the python-mlt
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-mlt
Uninstall python-mlt And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-mlt
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-mlt
Remove python-mlt Configurations and Data
To remove python-mlt
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-mlt
