How To Install python-mlpy on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python-mlpy
python-mlpy is:
mlpy provides high level procedures that support, with few lines of code, the design of rich Data Analysis Protocols (DAPs) for preprocessing, clustering, predictive classification and feature selection. Methods are available for feature weighting and ranking, data resampling, error evaluation and experiment landscaping.
mlpy includes: SVM (Support Vector Machine), KNN (K Nearest Neighbor), FDA, SRDA, PDA, DLDA (Fisher, Spectral Regression, Penalized, Diagonal Linear Discriminant Analysis) for classification and feature weighting, I-RELIEF, DWT and FSSun for feature weighting, RFE (Recursive Feature Elimination) and RFS (Recursive Forward Selection) for feature ranking, DWT, UWT, CWT (Discrete, Undecimated, Continuous Wavelet Transform), KNN imputing, DTW (Dynamic Time Warping), Hierarchical Clustering, k-medoids, Resampling Methods, Metric Functions, Canberra indicators.
There are three methods to install python-mlpy
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-mlpy Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-mlpy
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-mlpy

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-mlpy
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-mlpy
Install python-mlpy Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-mlpy
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-mlpy
How To Uninstall python-mlpy on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-mlpy
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-mlpy
Uninstall python-mlpy And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-mlpy
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-mlpy
Remove python-mlpy Configurations and Data
To remove python-mlpy
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-mlpy
Remove python-mlpy configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-mlpy
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-mlpy
