How To Install python-kdtree on Debian 9
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install python-kdtree on Debian 9.
What is python-kdtree
python-kdtree is:
A container implementing k-dimensional space sorting using a kd-tree. It:
- supports two- to six-dimensional spaces
- can store any data structure
- provides standard find as well as range queries
- has amortised O(lg n) time (O(n lg n) worst case) on most operations (insert/erase/find optimised) and worst-case O(n) space
- provides means to rebalance and thus optimise the tree
This package contains the extension built for the Python interpreter.
There are three methods to install python-kdtree on Debian 9. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-kdtree Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-kdtree using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-kdtree

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install python-kdtree using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-kdtree
How To Uninstall python-kdtree on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python-kdtree package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-kdtree

To uninstall python-kdtree and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:

To remove python-kdtree configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
