What is python-jpype
python-jpype is:
JPype is an effort to allow Python programs full access to java class libraries. This is achieved not through re-implementing Python, as Jython/JPython has done, but rather through interfacing at the native level in both Virtual Machines.
Eventually, it should be possible to replace Java with Python in many, though not all, situations. JSP, Servlets, RMI servers and IDE plugins are good candidates.
There are three methods to install python-jpype
on Debian 9. We can use apt-get

using apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-jpype
using aptitude

sudo aptitude -y install python-jpype
How To Uninstall python-jpype on Debian 9
To uninstall only the python-jpype
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-jpype
Uninstall python-jpype And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-jpype
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 9, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-jpype
Remove python-jpype Configurations and Data
To remove python-jpype
configuration and data from Debian 9 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-jpype
