How To Install python-ironic-lib on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python-ironic-lib
python-ironic-lib is:
A common library to be used by various projects in the Ironic ecosystem.
Ironic provision bare metal machines instead of virtual machines. It is a fork of the Nova Baremetal driver. It is best thought of as a bare metal hypervisor API and a set of plugins which interact with the bare metal hypervisors. By default, it will use PXE and IPMI in concert to provision and turn on/off machines, but Ironic also supports vendor-specific plugins which may implement additional functionality.
This package provides the Python 2.7 module.
There are three methods to install python-ironic-lib on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-ironic-lib Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-ironic-lib using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-ironic-lib
Install python-ironic-lib Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-ironic-lib using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-ironic-lib
Install python-ironic-lib Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-ironic-lib using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-ironic-lib
How To Uninstall python-ironic-lib on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-ironic-lib package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-ironic-lib
Uninstall python-ironic-lib And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-ironic-lib and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-ironic-lib
Remove python-ironic-lib Configurations and Data
To remove python-ironic-lib configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-ironic-lib
Remove python-ironic-lib configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-ironic-lib configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-ironic-lib
