How To Install python-ipython on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python-ipython
python-ipython is:
IPython can be used as a replacement for the standard Python shell, or it can be used as a complete working environment for scientific computing (like Matlab or Mathematica) when paired with the standard Python scientific and numerical tools. It supports dynamic object introspections, numbered input/output prompts, a macro system, session logging, session restoring, complete system shell access, verbose and colored traceback reports, auto-parentheses, auto-quoting, and is embeddable in other Python programs.
This package contains the backend terminal shell for Python 2: for the actual frontend install ipython.
There are three methods to install python-ipython on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-ipython Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-ipython using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-ipython
Install python-ipython Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-ipython using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-ipython
Install python-ipython Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-ipython using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-ipython
How To Uninstall python-ipython on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-ipython package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-ipython
Uninstall python-ipython And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-ipython and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-ipython
Remove python-ipython Configurations and Data
To remove python-ipython configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-ipython
Remove python-ipython configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-ipython configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
