How To Install python-imexam on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python-imexam
python-imexam is:
Imexam is an affiliated package of AstroPy. It was designed to be a lightweight library which enables users to explore data using common methods which are consistent across viewers. It can be used from a command line interface, through a Jupyter notebook or through a Jupyter console. It can be used with multiple viewers, such as DS9 or Ginga, or without a viewer as a simple library to make plots and grab quick photometry information.
This is the Python 2 package.
There are three methods to install python-imexam
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-imexam Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-imexam
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-imexam
Install python-imexam Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-imexam
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-imexam
Install python-imexam Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-imexam
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-imexam
How To Uninstall python-imexam on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-imexam
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-imexam
Uninstall python-imexam And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-imexam
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-imexam
Remove python-imexam Configurations and Data
To remove python-imexam
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-imexam
Remove python-imexam configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
