How To Install python-getdns on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python-getdns
python-getdns is:
getdns is a modern asynchronous DNS API. It implements DNS entry points from a design developed and vetted by application developers, in an API specification edited by Paul Hoffman. With the development of this API, we intend to offer application developers a modernized and flexible way to access DNS security (DNSSEC) and other powerful new DNS features; a particular hope is to inspire application developers towards innovative security solutions in their applications.
This package contains python bindings for the library.
There are three methods to install python-getdns
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-getdns Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-getdns
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-getdns

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-getdns
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-getdns
Install python-getdns Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-getdns
using aptitude

How To Uninstall python-getdns on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-getdns
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-getdns
Uninstall python-getdns And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-getdns
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-getdns
Remove python-getdns Configurations and Data
To remove python-getdns
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-getdns
Remove python-getdns configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
