What is python-geoip

python-geoip is:

GeoIP is a library that enables the user to find the country that any IP address or hostname originates from, using a database instead of DNS.

This package contains the Python bindings for GeoIP, allowing to use this library within a Python program.

There are three methods to install python-geoip on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install python-geoip Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install python-geoip using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install python-geoip

Install python-geoip Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install python-geoip using apt by running the following command:

Install python-geoip Using aptitude
