In this tutorial we learn how to install python-fisx on Debian 10.
What is python-fisx
python-fisx is:
This software library implements formulas to calculate, given an experimental setup, the expected x-ray fluorescence intensities. The library accounts for secondary and tertiary excitation, K, L and M shell emission lines and de-excitation cascade effects. The basic implementation is written in C++ and a Python binding is provided.
This is the Python 2 version of the package.
There are three methods to install python-fisx on Debian 10. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-fisx Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-fisx using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-fisx

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
