How To Install python-dill on Ubuntu 18.04

What is python-dill
python-dill is:
Dill extends Python’s ‘pickle’ module for serializing and de-serializing Python objects to the majority of the built-in Python types. Dill provides the user the same interface as the ‘pickle’ module, and also includes some additional features. In addition to pickling Python objects, dill provides the ability to save the state of an interpreter session in a single command. Dill can be used to store Python objects to a file, but the primary usage is to send Python objects across the network as a byte stream.
There are three methods to install python-dill on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-dill Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-dill using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-dill
Install python-dill Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-dill using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-dill
Install python-dill Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-dill using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-dill
How To Uninstall python-dill on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the python-dill package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-dill
Uninstall python-dill And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-dill and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-dill
Remove python-dill Configurations and Data
To remove python-dill configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-dill
Remove python-dill configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-dill configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-dill
