How To Install python-dateutil on Ubuntu 20.04

What is python-dateutil
python-dateutil is:
It features:
- computing of relative deltas (next month, next year, next monday, last week of month, etc);
- computing of relative deltas between two given date and/or datetime objects
- computing of dates based on very flexible recurrence rules, using a superset of the iCalendar specification. Parsing of RFC strings is supported as well.
- generic parsing of dates in almost any string format
- timezone (tzinfo) implementations for tzfile(5) format files (/etc/localtime, /usr/share/zoneinfo, etc), TZ environment string (in all known formats), iCalendar format files, given ranges (with help from relative deltas), local machine timezone, fixed offset timezone, UTC timezone
- computing of Easter Sunday dates for any given year, using Western, Orthodox or Julian algorithms
This package provides the Python 2 version of the datetime module.
There are three methods to install python-dateutil on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-dateutil Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-dateutil using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-dateutil

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install python-dateutil using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install python-dateutil
Install python-dateutil Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install python-dateutil using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install python-dateutil
How To Uninstall python-dateutil on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the python-dateutil package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-dateutil
Uninstall python-dateutil And Its Dependencies
To uninstall python-dateutil and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove python-dateutil
Remove python-dateutil Configurations and Data
To remove python-dateutil configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge python-dateutil
Remove python-dateutil configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove python-dateutil configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge python-dateutil
