How To Install python-bcrypt on Debian 10

python-bcrypt is:
bcrypt is a Python module which provides a password hashing method based on the Blowfish password hashing algorithm, as described in “A Future-Adaptable Password Scheme” by Niels Provos and David Mazieres: http://static.usenix.org/events/usenix99/provos.html.
This package provides the bcrypt Python module for Python 2.x.
There are three methods to install python-bcrypt
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install python-bcrypt Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install python-bcrypt
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install python-bcrypt

After updating apt database, We can install python-bcrypt

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude

How To Uninstall python-bcrypt on Debian 10
To uninstall only the python-bcrypt
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove python-bcrypt

and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
